Toy Review – The Wellness G Wave Dual Stimulation Vibrator by Blush Novelties

 In Review, Dual-Stimulator, Vibrators

I’m just gonna call it the G Wave – I can’t with these long-ass names. Other companies are calling their toys by single syllables, get it together Blush.

The G Wave is a dual stimulator/”rabbit”style waterproof silicone vibrator, with two flexible appendages that are supposed to help get the best fit.

As far as the flexible arms go – they of course did not really work for me. Because I can never have nice things. I like the concept – don’t get me wrong – the G Wave’s just not quite right. If the G-spot arm were rigid I think that would actually be better because it would provide the firm pressure I (and let’s be honest, lots of other people – in a rare instance where my genitals are similar to lots of others) need to get the most bang for my buck out of internal stimulation. Being flexible does make it more comfortable to get in place but it really takes away the amount of control I have over the toy once inserted. I’m extra bummed about this because the end of the arm forms into a nice bulb shape with just a little bit of squish that I think would snuggle up quite nicely to my G-spot if I could actually push on it (unlike most others, my G-spot is located pretty shallowly but tucked up high behind my pubic bone, so G-spot toys have to be firmly angled and pushed on kinda hard to hit it just right.)

The clitoral arm is alright – not perfect. Again I like the concept of flexibility, I think in this regard Blush is trying to take cues from others like We-Vibe’s Nova design, they’ve heard users say that they can’t stand pointy pokey jabby clit parts on rabbits and we need something that is more adjustable for a custom fit, but for me the G Wave again misses the mark. The arm is easily manipulated, but it wants to return to its resting point which places the end of the arm in the space between my vagina and clit – not quite high enough. I can use the hand not holding the handle to push the clit part upwards into place, but that makes this an annoying two-hander and the more of the toy I wrap my hands around the weaker the vibrations to my genitals get so I don’t really want to do that. I have no idea what the little bulge halfway down the shaft of the clit arm is about, I tried finding a way to make that part touch my body and the only way is for the internal G-spot arm to turn into a cervix stimulator instead. No thanks.

As for how it feels…well I’ve had worse. I can see the potential. Blush was almost onto something.

The G Wave has 3 steady speeds and 4 patterns. The first speed really did pique my interest, it felt rumbly and strong – albeit too low to get me anywhere other than warmed up – and I was looking forward to turning it up. As I reach the third speed I can see how things might be drifting over into buzzy, but it wasn’t quite there yet so I was willing to keep trying. And then the patterns start. If your first speed doesn’t feel like I’m fucking a paint mixer then I’m gonna need way more than three, and I’m gonna need them to stay strong and rumbly as they go. The patterns are pretty standard, nothing to really write home about, and they come only in one intensity. The only real saving grace to these functions is the fact that there are separate buttons, so at least I didn’t have to go through the patterns I didn’t want.

Did I cum with the G Wave? Well….kind of? I usually have another toy on stand-by when I’m testing something out – if the tester can’t make me orgasm then I need to be ready with something that does work as a backup. I have endometriosis/dysorgasmia which can cause uterine cramping and a fuckload of pain if I do things like get near to orgasm and then lose it, or have a weak or short orgasm. Sometimes a toy is so bad it doesn’t get me anywhere close and I can just stop testing and move on, but sometimes if I cross over the threshold of “too stimulated to turn back now” I have to finish myself off (whether I care about orgasming right then or not) or I’ll be on the bathroom floor with cramps for the rest of the day. I tried out the G Wave a few times and was struggling with getting the placement of all the parts right and really feeling much of anything after a minute or two of getting used to it (and in those cases just turned it off and moved on) but I was determined for my last test so I grabbed my Pro40 just incase. I fussed with it for the usual amount of time trying to get the right angle for firm G-spot pressure and then trying to adjust the clit arm to actually make contact and eventually came to grips with the fact that it just wasn’t going to happen the way Blush intended. Once I start with G-spot stimulation it’s best if I continue on with it so as not to make the orgasm gods angry, so I didn’t want to just toss the G Wave aside, but the clit arm – while flexible – was still getting in the way of my Pro40, so rather than try to twist the G Wave or bend the arm back to fit both toys, I squeezed the two parts of the G Wave together and put the whole thing in my vag. It still didn’t hit my G-spot exactly right, but the fullness and vibration was nice enough and I managed to eke out the orgasm I’d been fighting for. While technically effective, that’s still not the way the G Wave was supposed to be used, so I don’t want to give it too much credit for making me cum, I would have rather used a regular G-spot toy in that case.

Overall – like I said – I’ve had worse. When it comes to toys that are designed to stimulate multiple parts of the body at once it’s (probably) not going to be possible to get it perfect for every single person, and I am admittedly an outlier in the body parts department, so nothing I experienced with the G Wave was in any way unexpected. I can see where it could work for some people, and I can see where Blush could really improve on the idea to make it even better. If you don’t need rock-hard pressure on your G-spot and if it’s located a bit deeper, if your clit is spaced differently than mine, if you’re not a total power hog like me, then this could easily transform from a total meh into something enjoyable. But for me? It’s sadly a no.
